Our Mission The mission of The Carp Ridge Learning Centre is to teach, model and facilitate healing and sustainability, with emphasis on our local community. The Learning Centre is a place of many opportunities and a hopeful vision for the future based on these core values:
The Centre's History The Learning Centre was formerly the Carp Ridge Community School, which operated as a private elementary facility from the fall of 1998 until summer of 2001. At that time it was temporarily closed due to the illness and subsequent passing of one of its founding members, Michael Willow. Originally designated as 'the schoolhouse' -- generously donated by John Sweetnam -- it now serves another educational purpose as general workshop and learning space. The Learning Centre was founded by Katherine Willow, ND, a fourth generation naturopath. It exists as part of her passion for helping others to discover the benefits of living naturally and sustainably in a supportive community. |
